About me
My name is Amara Muhurta.
Or rather: that is the name I chose to write everything that moments and their silences tell me. It means exactly that: “My moments”. And about them I write: brief, delicate, true instances. Fragile.
In 2021 I published my first collection of poems, Sensation or Wakefulness, an exploration of the human, the contradictory, and the subtle.
In 2022, the work was also converted into an audiobook, showing that words can walk with other voices.
My second book, Moments that vanish to create others (2023), is a meditation on time and transformation. Kairós, my favorite word, runs through its pages: the sacred moment. It is an invitation to explore pause, silence, contemplation.
When they ask me, I answer: Moments.
I have had the honor of collaborating with literary magazines such as AUTORES, Santa Rabia Poetry and with the publishing house Santa Rabia in the anthology Geometry of Wonder, a project that "celebrates the expansion of the word and collective creation", bringing together twenty new voices of Pan-Hispanic poetry.
Currently, I am working on several projects, including the translation of my first collection of poems into English... so that it continues walking through other landscapes.
Silencios con nombre propio.
This photograph is one of my favorites, with Nano, whom you can also see on the cover of my second collection of poems: Moments that vanish to create others.
It is not accidental. It is one of those everyday moments that, because of its authenticity, becomes a poem.
It was —and remains— an image that inhabits my writing.
